The Asagba of Asaba, Obi Prof Chike Edozien  passes on

Edozien, the 13th Asagba of Asaba who is a direct descendants of Nnebisi the founder of Asaba recently celebrated his 100 years birthday.

It was gathered that he died in the early  Wednesday night

According to PM news, the report of the monarch’s demise filtered into the streets of Asaba on Wednesday night, with residents of the state capital describing his death as a great loss to the entire Asaba kingdom.

The international scholar retired as a Professor Emeritus of the University of North Carolina and returned to Nigeria in 1991 when he was crowned as the king.

Although, the palace is yet to make an official announcement, but multiple sources from the palace confirmed the incident.

The late Asagba is the  first Black-African indigenous dean of medicine in a foreign University
