The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general election.

The announcement followed what party leaders described as extensive consultations and strategic engagements with key stakeholders across the state, aimed at presenting a strong and credible candidate for the contest.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, who confirmed the development, said the decision was reached after careful consideration of aspirants based on competence, capacity, and alignment with the party’s vision for Ogun State.

As part of the consensus-building process, leading aspirants from Ogun West, including Gboyega Nasir Isiaka and Isiaq Abiodun Akinlade, threw their weight behind Adeola’s candidacy. The governor commended their commitment to party unity and collective progress.

Abiodun noted that the party remains united and focused, urging members to stay law-abiding and committed as preparations intensify ahead of the gubernatorial election.

He expressed confidence that Adeola would build on the administration’s achievements and deliver greater dividends of democracy to the people of Ogun State.

In his acceptance  speech, Adeola said he would not let Ogun and the APC down, vowing to also sustain the trajectory of the state as the fastest growing economy and industrial haven among the comity states in the country.
