YES fm Boss, Yemi Sonde to Deliver 2025 Public Lecture at Dominican University’s Mass Communication Department June 4

Ace broadcaster, Mr. Yemi Sonde, will next Wednesday at the 2025 public lecture of the Department of Mass Communication of the Dominican University, Samonda, Ibadan, speak on how the menace of fake news is affecting media integrity in Nigeria

Mr. Sonde, who is the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Yemi Sonde Media Group, will be the guest speaker at the public lecture titled “Fake News and Media Integrity”.

The event, scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, 2025, will take place at the Tom and Carolyn Walker Hall on the university campus by 2pm.

The event will be chaired by Barrister Steven J. Ajibola, while the convener of the lecture is Associate Professor Ifeanyi Onyike, Head of Mass Communication Department.

Communication students, media professionals, academics, and members of the public are expected to attend the public lecture for an engaging discussion on how to tackle the problem of fake news in the Nigeria’s media landscape.

According to sources at the Mass Communication Department of the university, the topic and the guest speaker were carefully selected to address the growing concerns of stakeholders over fake news and media integrity in this digital age.

Mr. Sonde is a renowned media personality with decades of experience in radio broadcasting.

The CEO of Yemi Sonde Media Group is widely recognized for his contributions to Nigerian media and his advocacy for ethical journalism.
