Prince Sola Ladoja son of Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja has clarified circumstances surrounding his earlier social media post, insisting that there was no discussion of any anti-government plot during a recent meeting involving the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin.

In a tweet on his verified x page @solasquire addressing what he described as widespread misinterpretation of his deleted tweet, Ladoja explained that his use of the word “receipts” referred strictly to records of conversations, not financial transactions as widely assumed.
Providing details of the encounter, Ladoja stated that on March 25, Ogundoyin personally requested to be introduced to his father, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, to seek royal backing for his gubernatorial ambition.
According to him, he was initially reluctant but eventually obliged the request. He noted that the visit to the monarch was purely consultative and took place ahead of a governorship screening scheduled for the following day.
“At no point during the meeting was there any discussion about the All Progressives Congress (APC) or any plan against the governor,” Ladoja stated, expressing surprise at claims suggesting that the monarch had invited Ogundoyin for political discussions.
He further alleged that contrary narratives being circulated were misleading, maintaining that the Speaker initiated the meeting and not the other way round.
The controversy escalated following an earlier post by Ladoja in which he accused unnamed individuals of misrepresenting facts. He also issued a warning that he could release evidence of conversations if Ogundoyin failed to “do the right thing.”
In a strongly worded remark, Ladoja accused a senior political figure, believed to be the Chief Whip, of being manipulated, stating that the individual had been “used as a tool by a coward and liar.”
The development has added a new dimension to the political discourse ahead of the 2027 governorship race in Oyo State, with observers noting growing tensions and strategic alignments within the state’s political space.
Efforts to reach Ogundoyin for comment were unsuccessful as of press time.
