A group of young politicians under the aegis of Pacesetter Elites Group has called on former Oyo State governor, Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, to steer clear of partisan politics and continue to relate with all stakeholders as a father figure.
In a statement signed the the group President Alhaji Olatunde Alao the group said Oba Ladoja remains widely respected for his contributions to the development of Oyo State during his time in office.
They noted that his leadership legacy, despite what they described as his “unfortunate impeachment,” continues to command admiration across political divides.
The group, however, urged the elder statesman and traditional ruler to refrain from taking sides in the current political landscape, stressing that his influence would be better preserved in a neutral, fatherly role.
“Baba is a respected leader whose voice carries weight across the state. Rather than meddling in partisan politics at this time, we appeal to him to remain a unifying figure and relate with everyone as a father to all,” the statement read.
According to the group, maintaining neutrality would further enhance his stature and enable him to continue to serve as a bridge-builder among political actors in the state.
They reiterated their respect for Oba Ladoja, expressing hope that he would heed their call in the interest of unity and stability in Oyo State.
