As Oyo State marks its 50th anniversary, a new premium coffee table publication, Distinctly Oyo State: The Pacesetter in Colours, has been unveiled to document and celebrate the rich history, culture, tourism potential and achievements of the state.
The 240-page-plus, full-colour glossy publication is designed as both a collector’s item and an historical reference work, providing a visual celebration of Oyo State while preserving its story for present and future generations.
According to the publishers, the book is also intended to showcase the immense opportunities and possibilities in Oyo State to audiences within Nigeria and across the world.
The publication devotes extensive space to the state’s historical landmarks and monuments, cultural festivals, traditional institutions, tourist attractions and natural endowments, bringing them together in what is described as one comprehensive volume dedicated to Oyo State.
The book also features distinguished personalities and notable achievers, as well as communities and people captured in their natural environments.
Dr. Kazeem Adesola Adeduntan wrote the foreword, while Dr. David Oluseyi Ige and Akogun Yinka Afonja contributed the prefaces. The publication was edited by Dr. Kayode Adejumo-Bello.
The project, produced by BibliophiliaNigeria, is expected to be strategically distributed to institutions, individuals and networks capable of projecting the story and opportunities of Oyo State nationally and internationally.
Target recipients include government institutions, diplomatic missions, libraries, educational institutions, corporate organisations, traditional rulers, investors, development partners and opinion leaders within and outside Nigeria.
