Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Governor Seyi Makinde and his Wife Chief Mrs Tamunominini Makinde on their conferment of the prestigious chieftaincy title of Aare Omoluabi and Yeye Aare Omoluani of Akure Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure Kingdom.
Wolekanle described the recognition as a well-deserved honour that reflects the governor’s exemplary leadership, humility, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people. According to him, the title of Aare Omoluabi—which translates to “Leader of Noble Character”—aptly captures Governor Makinde’s integrity, developmental strides, and people-centred governance that have continued to earn him national and international accolades.
He further stated that the chieftaincy title was not only a personal honour to the governor but also a moment of pride for the people of Oyo State and indeed the entire Yoruba race.
Wolekanle emphasized that Governor Makinde’s leadership style, anchored on fairness, transparency, and innovation, has positively transformed lives across sectors such as education, health, infrastructure, and youth development.
Wolekanle, who is also a prominent grassroots mobilizer and philanthropist, praised the Deji of Akure for recognizing the outstanding contributions of the Oyo State Governor. He said the conferment speaks volumes about the governor’s reputation beyond the borders of his home state, reaffirming that true leadership always commands respect across communities and regions.
He concluded by praying for more strength, wisdom, and divine guidance for Governor Makinde as he continues to steer the affairs of Oyo State and contribute meaningfully to the development of the Southwest and Nigeria at large.
