The Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, has condemned the recent killing of forest guards by suspected bandits in Oloka Village, Ikoyi Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Akinwole, in a statement on Thursday, expressed deep concern over the dastardly attack, describing it as a painful loss not only to the affected families but also to the state at large.

He commiserated with the Baale of Oloka, residents of the community and the families of the slain forest guards, praying that God would console them and grant them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

The commission chairman called for increased collaboration among security agencies, local communities and relevant stakeholders to prevent the infiltration of criminal elements into the area and forest reserves.

According to him, intelligence sharing, vigilance and collective responsibility remain critical to safeguarding lives and property, stressing that communities must work closely with security operatives to detect and report suspicious movements.

Akinwole urged residents to remain calm but alert, while assuring them that the state government would continue to support efforts aimed at flushing out intruders and restoring lasting peace to the area.
