The Accord Party in Oyo State on Wednesday declared that it will not allow any faction, saying the party remains unified with a single leadership structure.

The Oyo State Accord Party Vice-Chairman and Secretary, Alhaji Lukman Adeyanju and Hon. Dairo Olayinka, stated this while speaking at the first meeting of the Accord Party in Akinyele Local Government Area, after the merger of the Oyo N’Pe O with the political party.
The Accord Party leaders were reacting to a parallel meeting held by some people at Oyo N’Pe O office at Oja Odo-Agbe in Akinyele Local Government, saying such a meeting is not recognized by the leadership of the political party in Oyo State.
The duo affirmed that the meeting held at the Accord office located in Akinyele, opposite KK Foundation Office, was the recognized one, urging all members to work with the main party structure.
The State executives of the Accord Party were received by party leaders in Akinyele, including Alhaji Muibi Akinsola, Pastor Oni Michael, Hon. Esuola Akintunde, Hon. Nafiu Aremu, Hon. Akinosun Rabiu, Alhaji Olatunji Abayomi Titilope, among others.
Also, Accord Party aspirants for State House of Assembly and Federal House of Representatives, including Hon. Kunle Kareem (KK) and Hon. Olasupo Phillips David, were present at the maiden meeting.
Addressing party faithfuls, the Accord Party Vice-Chairman, Alhaji Adeyanju, said ensuring cohesion among party members in Akinyele is very important to the Accord Party leadership, since the party’s governorship hopeful, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, hails from the local government.
The Vice-Chairman urged members to ensure a solid party structure across all the wards in Akinyele Local Government and to go and get their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Similarly, the State Secretary of the Accord Party, Hon. Dairo, declared that “we don’t tolerate factions within our party”.
Hon. Dairo stated that: “We know that Oyo N’Pe O existed before. But since the January 17 declaration at Liberty Stadium, the Oyo N’Pe O and Oriyomi Fan Club have been merged with the Accord Party structure.
“Our governorship candidate, Alhaji Dr. Oriyomi Hamzat, himself proclaimed on that day at Liberty Stadium that he has merged Oyo N’Pe O with the political party structure”.
Hon. Dairo disclosed that Dr. Oriyomi has assured that only the meeting held at the party office and attended by State executives will be recognized, urging all Accord Party members in Akinyele to align with the party structure in the local government area.
Meanwhile, the Accord Party State executives welcomed scores of decampees from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the political party during the meeting.
The decampees, led by Hon. Ajoke Owonikoko, the APC Councillorship candidate in Ward 5 of Akinyele Local Government in the last council election in Oyo State, pledged their support for the Accord Party.
Speaking with reporters at the venue of the meeting, Hon. Kunle Kareem, a leading aspirant for the seat of Akinyele constituency 1 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, called for unity among party members in Akinyele.
Hon. Kareem also called for total support for Dr. Oriyomi Hamzat and the State executives of the political party, saying Oyo State people are looking up to the Accord Party to rescue them from bad governance in 2027.
The Accord Party State Assembly aspirant promised to work with the leadership of the political party in Akinyele to ensure that the party structure is strengthened across all the wards in the local government area.
