Former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honorable Bolaji Badmos has officially dumped the African Democratic Congress, (ADC) and joined the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
Bolaji Badmos who represented Akinyele State Constituency II in the 8th Assembly led other members of the Unity Forum in Akinyele local government area to the party secretariat on Tuesday to join the ruling party.
Speaking with journalists, the former House committee chairman on Local Government and chieftaincy matters stated the reason why he joined the PDP.
He said: “I led other Unity Forum ADC members in Akinyele Local Government to join PDP today. Just because of the fact that we appreciate the good work of His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde. We waited for one year to assess the performance of the present government which is being led by His Excellency, Enginer Seyi Makinde.
“So far so good, we have seen that he is a Governor that has the love of people at heart and he is a Governor that is willing to serve this state wholeheartedly. Although, there are rooms for improvement which I believe that our inclusion in the PDP family will also assist in the improvement. Those are the factors that led us to join the PDP family.”
He also urged other Unity Forum members in ADC in other local government to emulate the bold step he has taken.
“I believe it’s a decision that you have to be convinced by yourself. But so far so good, I believe this government has done well. I want to urge them to emulate the bold step that we have taken in Akinyele local government. So we can work together with this government and join PDP family.” he added.
While receiving him into the party, the PDP leader in Akinyele, Baba Adebiyi urged him to work in the interest of the party and assured him of the party support.
Also speaking, the party chairman in Akinyele local government, Otunba Kola Badmos stressed the need for Hon Bolaji Badmos to familiarise himself with the party at the ward level. He also assured him of maximum support.
