CSOs Launch Coordinated Drive to Influence Nigeria’s 2027 Elections

As Nigeria gears up for the 2027 general elections, accredited Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) are launching a robust civic engagement initiative to promote informed voting, accountability, and good governance.

This was contained in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by the Director-General, Civil Society Organisations on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative (CSCHEI), Kunle Yusuff , MON and made available to newsmen.

According to him,CSCHEI is a recognised platform coordinating, supervising, and promoting accredited CSOs and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs), we will provide voter education, public enlightenment, and scrutiny of candidates.

“We urge aspirants contesting the 2027 elections to demonstrate leadership capacity, integrity, and a commitment to national development. Our priorities are accountability, unity, fairness, justice, and equity.

“We will subject candidates to an opening debate on their operational and administrative manifestos, ensuring Nigerians know their plans and vision.

“The 2027 elections are for serious-minded candidates with institutional experience and a track record of service. We call on professional Nigerians with leadership potential to step forward.

“CSCHEI and partner CSOs will actively engage in voter education, candidate scrutiny, and election observation, promoting credible, transparent, and peaceful elections.

“We will collaborate with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, local and international election observers, security agencies, and other constitutionally recognised stakeholders to ensure the 2027 elections are conducted fairly and transparently.

“We will also partner with conventional and non-conventional media outlets nationwide to promote accurate information dissemination and engage with traditional leaders and faith-based organisations to promote peace, unity, and national cohesion.

“Together, let’s build a better Nigeria.”
