One of the major contenders for the seat of Senate President Senator Danjuma Goje has withdrawn from the race
Goje a former Governor of Gombe was persuaded by Kaduna state governor Nasir El Rufai and other stakeholders in the party
He made the U-turn after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday.
He also endorsed the ambition of Senator Ahmed Lawan as the Senate President of the ninth assembly.
