The group, led by the party’s State Ex-Officio, Chief Roseline Olajumoke Adeyinka, made the declaration on Saturday, saying their decision was motivated by the need to support their home-based candidates and appreciate Governor Makinde for appointing Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole as Chief of Staff.

Adeyinka said the group remained committed to the APM but had decided to publicly demonstrate its support for the party’s candidates in Oyo State.

“We cannot belong to a party and work against our own people . We, members of the APM in Ogbomoso under the Olopoeniyan group, have declared our support for our people and will work to ensure victory for the party in the state,” she said.

She added that the group had no disagreement with Olopoeniyan, Dr Paul Olakunle Onirese or the party leadership, stressing that its decision was driven by the desire to support candidates from the area.

“We have no issue with Hon. Olopoeniyan or the party, but we want to make it clear that we in Ogbomoso are giving our full support and mobilize for all APM candidates in the next election,” Adeyinka stated.

In his response, the Oyo State APM Chairman, Otunba Fagbemi Adegbenro, commended the group for its resilience and determination to secure victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.

Adegbenro reiterated that the APM remained united, noting that the party’s leadership was committed to ensuring that all members were carried along in its preparations for the elections.

“As I have continued to say wherever we go, the APM is one. Our mission is to go into the election as a united party, and we will ensure that everybody is involved,” he said.

The Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor, Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole, also appreciated the group for its support and urged members to sustain their mobilisation efforts to strengthen the party ahead of the elections.

Similarly, the APM governorship candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, thanked the group for its show of solidarity and assured them that he would not disappoint them.
