BREAKING: Polyibadan Postpones First Semester Exam for One Week As Student Protest Against Tuition Breakdown, Faulty Portals

Management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan have postponed the First Semester Examination for 2019/2020 academic session scheduled to commence Today, Monday 12th of October, 2020 for One (1) week.

The postponement decision which was made known in signed by the School Registrar, Mrs. Modupe Fawale and confirmed to newsmen by the institution Public Relations Officer, Alh. Soladoye Adewole came after Students of the institution laid barricades on all the school entrances protesting against the accessibility of faulty student portals and inability to complete their registration.

Mrs. Fawale maintained that the great citadel of learning made this move “to enable students who were unable to meet registration and payment of tuition deadline to do so.”

According to the Press Release, The examination will however commence on Monday, 19th October, 2020 with the HND II students in the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies and their counterparts in the Faculty of Environmental Studies following the order earlier scheduled.

The statement further reads in part;

“Students are to also note that examination etiquettes are sacrosanct hence, any student involved in examination malpractices will be sanctioned.

“Equally, any student caught with cell phone and smart watch will be suspended from the institution and the materials will be confiscated.

“Students are expected to observe all Covid-19 protocols including the use of facemask and those who failed to abide shall not be permitted to take part in the scheduled examination.

“As earlier informed, students facing registration challenges are to go to the accredited ICT centres for solution.

The centres are:
1. Poly cybercafé (a division of Poly venture/ consult) behind micro finance bank.
2. TIKC centre- Under Faculty of Financial Management Studies (behind FFMS Faculty Office, opposite Central Administration Block)
3. Poly ICT centre cybercafé (beside Wema bank).
