The General coordinator and convener of Yoruba Mandate Group, Akogun Banji Ojo, has lauded the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, over the appointment of Barr. Wale Ojo-Lanre as the Director-General of the Bureau of Tourism Development.
In the Group’s congratulatory message signed and released in Ado-Ekiti, on Friday, 27 October, commended Governor Oyebanji that the appointment follows “due and logical process as a need to enhance the tourism potentialities for economic growth and development.”
He commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the creation of Bureau of Tourism from the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism as a distinctive legal entity bereft of red tape and bureaucratic limitations that has undermined the sector’s growth and development in the country as a whole.”
“The Governor has shown to the world that his creative and developmental mindset is set to change the narrative of Ekiti tourism for wider patorage and global consumption. The appointment of Amb. Wale Ojo Lanre is very strategic in championing Ekiti as an international tourism hub, and it is promising to position tourism as a vital economic sector with the consciousness of a dedicated Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development’.
He equally described the newly appointed DG as “an industrious son of Ekiti, whose tourism escapades has mapped out Nigeria as a great tourism hub for global recognition in 87 countries.
Wale Ojo has served as the Associate Editor, Tourism Desk of Nigerian Tribune Newspaper, Recipient of Nigerian Tourism National Awards, Former Director -General, Ekiti State Council of Arts and Culture and Special Senior Adviser on Tourism Development of Governor Kayode Fayemi and among many others.
