Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for enhancing the capacity of local government administration in the state through continuous training of staff and key stakeholders.
Akinwole gave the commendation on Monday during a capacity building workshop organised by the Oyo State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters for Local Government Secretaries across the state.
The workshop, themed “Stakeholder Engagement and Political Intelligence Roles for Local Government Secretaries in Oyo State,” was held at the Local Government Service Commission Training School, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Speaking at the event, Akinwole described the training as a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening grassroots governance and improving administrative efficiency across the 33 local government areas of the state.
He said the Makinde-led administration has continued to demonstrate commitment to effective local government administration through regular training and retraining of personnel.
Akinwole, who attended the workshop to offer moral support to the participants, also pledged to facilitate another training programme for all local government secretaries in Abuja in the near future.
The announcement was greeted with loud applause from participants, who appreciated the gesture and lauded the state government for prioritising capacity development in the local government system.
The workshop featured discussions on stakeholder management, leadership, political intelligence and effective grassroots administration.
