An international tourism concerns TABAC International , has promised to enhance the medical tourism potentiality in Ekiti State
The Country Representative of TABAC , Mr Steve Akadiri made this assurance during a business proposal demonstration to Ambassador Wale Ojo Lanre, Senior Special Assistant on Tourism Development to Governor John Kayode Fayemi, in Ado Ekiti, Nigeria.
Mr Akadiri who commended Governor Kayode Fayemi for being the first Governor of Ekiti that has consistently shown interest at developing the tourism sector of the state for the benefits of the people deserves support and reinforcement of purpose from development agents.
Mr Akadiri disclosed that the geographical and climatic configuration of Ekiti have made it a paragon of tourism which is ready for enhancement and economic explosion.
He pointed out that out of all the Governors that have ruled over Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi is the only one who deliberately created comprehensible policy and action plans for tourism both during his first and second tenure.
Mr Akadiri disclosed that Ekiti State is blessed with a climate that enhances good health and its geographical configuration makes it a sprawling site for medical tourism.
He revealed that his organisation has identified a location between Efon Alaye and Ikogosi suitable for the planting of a medical tourism village.
Mr Akadiri revealed his organisation intervention at adding value to the tourism sector of Ekiti State via medical tourism would not task the financial strength of the state neither would it put the burden on the people but would only engage the people of the state via employment creation and empowerment.
In his response, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Fayemi on Tourism Development, Ambassador Ojo – Lanre in his response lauded TABAC and its management for their interest in Ekiti tourism development and for publicly identifying with the Governor Fayemi’s tourism vision.
He assured Mr Akadiri of the readiness of the state to partner development agents at ensuring the making of Ekiti as a preferred tourism destination in Nigeria .
