The Honourable Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole has expressed shock and surprise at the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) planned industrial action that is to commence by 12 midnight of today Wednesday, 20th September, 2017.

Prof. Adewole   in a press statement signed by Olajide Oshundun (Mr.),
Assistant Director, Media and Public Relations,Federal Ministry of Health   said Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment have had series of meeting with the leadership of JOHESU of which most of their demands had been met, this includes, payment of promotion arrears that pre-dated President Muhammad Buhari’s administration. The other issues raised by JOHESU are still being deliberated upon with the leadership of the Union.

Prof. Adewole therefore appeals to JOHESU and their conscience not to embark on strike in the interest of the generality of Nigerians especially the less privileged that may not be able to afford healthcare services in the private hospitals.
