ADEKANMBI CALLS FOR UNITY, RENEWAL AS NIGERIA MARKS 66TH INDEPENDENCE
The Oyo State governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, has called for greater unity, hope and national renewal as Nigeria celebrates its 66th Independence anniversary.
Adekanmbi, in a statement issued on Thursday by his Director of Communication and Spokesperson, Yinka Oladoyinbo, congratulated Nigerians and commended them for their resilience and continued belief in the unity and development of the country.
He said Nigeria had recorded significant achievements in the 66 years since independence, stressing that such accomplishments must be protected despite the challenges confronting the nation.
The APM candidate acknowledged the economic difficulties faced by Nigerians, particularly the rising costs of food, transportation and other basic necessities, and expressed sympathy with citizens affected by the hardship.
According to him, the resilience of Nigerians demonstrates that there is still hope for a better Nigeria, urging citizens to remain committed to building a country that would serve the interests of both present and future generations.
Adekanmbi called on Nigerians to participate actively and peacefully in the democratic process and make informed electoral choices based on the vision, competence and values presented by political parties and candidates.
He also appealed to residents of Oyo State to continue supporting the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, saying its projects and programmes were contributing to the state’s development.
“As the nation prepares for another round of elections next year, and in line with the articulated programmes of the APM, I urge the people to support and vote for all candidates of our great party to ensure the sustainability of the development Oyo State has witnessed in the last seven years,” he said.
Adekanmbi further urged Nigerians to use the anniversary as an opportunity to renew their commitment to national unity, peaceful coexistence and the collective task of building a stronger and more prosperous country.
