Olajide Ajeigbe, Chairman Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission OYSIEC has appealed to stakeholders in the political sectors In Oyo state to cooperate with the institution for successful conduct of credible , free and fear election into local government and LCDA’s in the state
Just as representatives of political party expresses fear over the preparedness of the Ajeigbe led team to conduct credible local government election in the state on 12th May
Ajeigbe in his remark at a stakeholders meeting held at the House of Chiefs in Ibadan on Wednesday appeal to all stakeholders to exercise caution so as not to heat up the system through unsavory comments
While assuring the people of the state that OYSIEC will be an umbiase empire in the election, Ajeigbe admonish various stakeholders to work hard, focused and play by the rules to ensure free fair and credible election
Angel Folorunsho, Chairman All Progressives Grand Alliance in Oyo state while expressing fear over the process of conduct of election said he is skeptical about the process because most of the question asked could not be answered appropriately by the chairman
He said further that in all state ,” local government election is just an award ceremony , therefore on our own part we are prepared to join in the political game we wont boycott any election, as the situation goes on we would be able to do our own as far as we are concern”
The South West Chairman Conference of Nigerian Political Party CNPP Alhaji Yinka Olona in his own submission said ‘ there are some issues that OYSIEC need to address before we could have free and fair election in the state, like the issue of delimitation of all the newly created LCDA, and not only that, how far have they gone about the issue of voters register, because that is the main issue which has to be review, there should be a review of voters register so that electorate can have the assurance that they are participating in an election and once they do this and create a level playing ground I believe there will be no problem,
Representatives of political parties, security agencies, faith based organization, governmental and non governmental organization were all in attendance
