Oyo Police Command Parade 22 Cultists, Armed Robbery Suspect

The Nigerian Police Force, Oyo State
Command has disclosed that he has arrested about 22 suspects with different cases such as armed robbery, cultist, attempt murders, car theft, among other.

Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Shina Olukolu made this disclosure on Monday at the Command Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan during a press briefing on the recent achievements made by the command to nip in the bud activities of criminal elements in the state.

In his word, Olukolu said that following the conclusion of the 2019 general elections in the state, the command has not relented in its efforts to continue to stamp out crimes and criminality in Oyo State, adding that this actually paid off consequent upon credible information from members of the public with the arrest of some suspected armed robbers and recovery of arms and ammunition.

Hear him ‘We have arrested 22 suspects for different criminal cases and in the cause of their arrest, some arms and ammunitions were recovered such as three locally made guns, three life cartridges, six vehicles, eight motorcycles, and eighteen tricycles were recovered.

The police boss reiterated further that a suspect, Gabriel Olatunji was arrested for car theft which thereafter led to the arrest of the receivers, Lekan Ajayi, Ismaila Ogunsola, Akin Aloso, and Tope Ezekiel and the recovery of the vehicles in Kogi and Kwara State respectively where the vehicles has been sold to the unsuspected members of the public.

“A member of a notorious Aiyee confraternity group, Chibuzor Nwanga, who had been attacking, maiming and unleashing mayhem on innocent members of the public within Ibadan metropolis was also arrested”.

He added that a suspected armed robber Simeon Ojei whom with sophisticated weapons invaded FOYDAVE store located at Are Avenue, Bodija, Ibadan was also arrested for attacking members of the public and also dispossessing them of cash and valuables items at gunpoint, adding that one Rafiu Ismaila and Kasali Saheed who were member of notorious gang was also arrested during the course of their criminal activities.

“18 tricycle which was highjacked by unknown gun men at a gunpoint from his driver around Akinyele Trailer Pack, along Ibadan/Oyo express way was also recovered at Shagamu in Ogun State, and investigation is still ongoing on it”.

He however urged the public to be security conscious of their environment because security of life’s and properties is a collective effort which Nigerian Police should not be left alone with, adding that the Oyo State Police Command is ready at all time, no matter what it takes to make use of information giving to them by the people to ensure that people are save.

“Men of Nigeria Police Force are doing their constitutional duties in protecting the lifes and properties of the people but the people also need to be conscious of their environment and the way they keep their properties and know that as they are keeping their properties, there are other criminal minded individuals who are interested In stealing such properties, people should continue to partner and synergized with us so that we can serve them better”.
