Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, has pledged his unwavering support for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Wolekanle while Oyo North, Oyo North PDP Senatorial Candidate Hon Shina Peller and others including candidates for the House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly, whose candidacies were ratified by party stakeholders on Thursday.
The Ogbomoso-born politician explained that his decision not to seek Senatorial election was based on his respect for the stakeholders and party’s zoning arrangement, which favours the Oke-Ogun zone to produce the next senator.
“I respect the party zoning arrangement and I am in full support of Oke-Ogun producing the next senator,” he said.
He described the party’s senatorial candidate candidate as a friend and a seasoned politician, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver and justify the trust reposed in him.
Wolekanle also commended Governor Seyi Makinde and PDP stakeholders for adopting a consensus approach, which he noted ensured a rancour-free process in selecting the party’s candidate.
He further appealed to other aspirants, party stakeholders, and supporters to rally round the party’s candidates, urging unity and cooperation to secure victory for the PDP across the zone in the 2027 elections.
He reaffirmed his commitment to working with other party leaders and stakeholders to ensure the party’s success at the polls.
