The Oyo State chapter of the ACCORD Party has approved a timetable and guidelines for its 2027 primary elections, alongside the release of nomination fees for aspirants seeking elective positions.
This followed a State Executive Council (SEC) meeting where party leaders ratified a structured schedule of activities in line with the Electoral Act 2026 and regulations of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
According to details made public by the party, aspirants for the governorship position are to pay a total of N15 million, comprising N10 million for nomination and N5 million for expression of interest.
Senate aspirants will pay N7.5 million, made up of N5 million nomination fee and N2.5 million expression of interest fee, while those vying for the House of Representatives are to pay N5 million in total. Aspirants for the State House of Assembly are to pay N1.75 million.
The party also unveiled a detailed timetable for the primaries. Sale of expression of interest forms is scheduled to commence on April 22 and end on May 11, 2026, which also marks the deadline for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents.
Screening of aspirants will take place from May 12 to May 16, while results of the screening exercise will be published on May 18. The party fixed May 21, 2026, for the conduct of its primary elections, with an appeal process slated for May 25.
ACCORD said all activities would be conducted at its state secretariat in Yemetu, Ibadan.
Reaffirming its commitment to internal democracy, the party assured aspirants of a transparent and credible process, urging members to maintain discipline and unity throughout the exercise.
It added that the outlined measures are part of efforts to position Oyo State for “purposeful leadership and progressive governance” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
