Okere of Saki Oba Khalid Olabisi Ilugbemidepo 1 has urged oyo state government to promote unique tourism potential and support in celebration of traditional festivals in the historical community

Oba Olabisi said this while hosting Special Adviser to Gov Seyi Makinde on Culture and Tourism, Hon Akeem Ademola Ige and his entourage who were on spot assessment of tourism potentials in the oke ogun area of Oyo state.

The monarch also said our cultural heritage and traditional festivals are our pride and we want elaborate the celebration and take it to international standard

He said ” we have Beere Fetival which is an annual event and we are also planning to launch the annual celebration of ogun festival and we will need government to be part of the festivals”

Admiring iron pot at the potter’s shed one of the unique tourism product from Saki

Oba Oyedepo said our unique tourism product Ikoko Irin still get serious attention at both local and international attention.

While appealing to governor Makinde to empower youths, the monarch said” There is a silent revolution going on in Saki, our youths have embarked on self help in local manufacturing of goods and product including shoes and they need support from the government, if our youths are engage there will be less security challenged and people will be be more development.

Oba Olabisi however appealed to the Governor to hasten the completion of the road which was started by the immediate past administration, “we want the governor to please ensure speedy completion of the projects.” He said.

In his remark Hon Ademola Ige said the visit is to inform the traditional ruler on the determination of Gov Makinde to develop and promote tourism potentials in the state.

Reacting to the road request by monarch, the minority leader of the 8th Assembly said, Gov Makinde is not joking with oke ogun road, he has started with construction of iseyin- Ibadan road which he re-awarded, if the past administration have done the needful the Iseyin- Saki road would have been a second phase.
