NITDA Commences Training of Artisans To Promote Digital Economy in Oyo North

National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), an agency created for the regulation and development of information technology today commences 10 days training for scores of artisans in Oyo North Senatorial District.

 

The training which was held at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso was facilitated by Lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari

Senator Buhari an All Progressives Congress Chieftains is the Chairman Senate Committe on Land Transport and he has facilitated training for over 10,000 members of his constituents.

The trainees were selected majorly from the Oyo North Senatorial district and other part of the State. The training is to focus on mobile phone repairs.

In his opening remarks at the training session, the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Lawmaker, who was represented by his political aide, Hon Adedeji Adeyemo said the essence of the training is to further exposed some of the artisans in the region to opportunities in ICT and to better their lives in particular and society at large.

He said the federal government was obsessed to creating employment opportunities through ICT in order to reduce unemployment in the country.

Senator Buhari noted that after the training,each participants will be given tools, IPad and startup capital which will assist them in exploiting opportunities this digital era.

The lawmaker however urged them to be more proactive and make use of the golden opportunity to acquire more knowledge in ICT and use whatever skill they acquire to positively influence their community.

COVID-19 procedures were observed at the training which includes washing of hands, the use of thermometer to check temperature and each of the trainees put on face mask. They were given access into the venue after scaling through screening exercise.

Some of the beneficiary including Oyero Adesiyan and Bello Adewale commended Senator Buhari for facilitating the training and the Federal government of Nigeria for creating that avenue through NITDA. They urged other politicans in the state to follow the footsteps of the Senator in order to turn the state into an ICT Hub.
