It was another moment of Honour for Barrister Bayo Lawal, the Oyo state deputy Governor as créme de la creme of the society, including traditional rulers, Top government functionaries , captains of industry gathered in Kishi to celebrate his elevation from Chairman Housing Corporation to the deputy Governor.
At the reception organized to honour him by Kishi Progressive Union on Saturday 24th September 2022, eminent personalities including His Royal Majesty, Oba Engineer Moshood Oyekola Aweda Lawal, Arowoduye II,Okere of Saki Oba Oba Khalid Olabisi Oyedepo and Olugbon of Orile Igbon Oba Samuel Olusola Alao and others extol the virtues of the deputy Governor describing him as Omoluabi who is not only humble and accessible but passionate about development of the state and region.
The monarchs who uses the ocassion to commend Governor Makinde and canvass for his re-election said the deputy Governor is an embodiment humility.
Governor Makinde and his Wife who were represented at the event said Barrister Bayo Lawal is a worthy deputy because he has demonstrated his loyalty and commitment to the task of taking Oyo state to an enviable state while life is easy and better for all and sundry.
The Chairman planning committee peaking, Alhaji Abubakar Tajudeen Tunde JP while speaking on why they hosted the deputy governor said ” Bayo lawal fell within the few who have always put his community first each time he had an opportunity to complement our consistent strives to improve the well-being of residents of the kingdome and promote the name of our ancient town”
” His antecedents since 1999 when he ventured into political games till date are worthy of loudest applause” He added
“As a result of his excellent responsiveness and responsibility to Kishi community, he needs to be certainly honoured him this way and even more”
Also, the National President of Kishi Progressive Union and Agbaakin of Kishi, Chirf Bayo Adesope JP in his remark said ” The grace given by our well focused executive governor of the state Engineer Oluseyi Makinde is very uncommon, for this reasons we would be eternally grateful for the kind gestures. Our community, Oke Ogun and the whole state have been favoured to with in the past few years the giants and valuable projects and programs are certainly inexhaustible, Education, Agric business and rural transformation, security and infrastructural development. Thanks for being fair to all Sir.”
Adesope who listed the needs of the community added that “We are quite aware that with the solid backing of the government, our community development efforts will be lubricated for improvement of the living standard of everyone of us. Hence we have embraced the golden oppurtunity offered as it will be used to rally more supports for this government”.
In his response, Barr Lawal said he was humbled by the event organized by his kinsmen to honour him on his appointment and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him
Bayo lawal who appreciated Governor Makinde for choosing him as a running mate reiterated the commitment of the current administration to make Oke Ogun a place of pride through infrastructural development which would attracts industries and rapid growth of the region.
He used the ocassion to re-echoed calls for total rehabilitation of Kishi- Igboho road, and other roads across Oke Ogun.
The legal luminary who urged people of the state to vote for Seyi Makinde’s second term and all the PDP candiates in the next election said electing Gov Makinde and all the PDP candidates in the next election will help in consolidating on the achievements recorded so far and place the state on a better level among the committee of Nations.
