Ogbomoso first (O’First) group, a socio- cultural organization founded by the illustrious Ogbomoso Indigenes home and diaspora has embarked on enlightenment campaign on the need for residents of Ogbomoso indigenes to be conscious of their environment and blend with the global trend in economic advancement, Health, agriculture, afforestation and others.
The 13 week episode which is being anchored by an experienced journalist and linguist Mr Sayò Àlàgbé on Àjílété FM 92.1 every Monday of the week at 3.30 pm will also showcase the activities of the group, it’s aims and objectives, achievements since its inception, future projections as well as exposing the younger generations to modern trends and new technological development
The non-governmental organization was founded with the ultimate aim of improving the structural, developmental and welfare of Ogbomoso and its people.
The pioneer chairman of the group Otunba Bayo Babatunde while featuring on the maiden edition of the radio program on monday said “O’first prioritize development of Ogbomoso and they are using the Influence of members who are connected to facilitate developmental projects to the town
He hinted that the group has facilitated construction of more than 10 roads, Installation of Solar Panel street light, donation of Medical Equipment for hospitals, provision of electric transformers to Ogbomoso community, award of schorlaship to Indigent students, cash donation and material supports to artisans to mention but just a few.
Babatunde said The group through its Present Chairman Barrister Adekunle influenced the approval of Federal Polythecnic Ayede and promise maximum support to ensure the stability of the Institute.
He added that “O’First group has constructed a multi-million behavioural centre in Ogbomoso, where research on drug abuse and its effects on Ogbomoso community are being monitored also rehabilitation and empowerment of drug addicts, counselling of clients as well as a working relationship with tertiary institutions in the neighbourhood.”
The organization’s has also been sponsoring jingles on radio stations in the zone to sensitize people on the need to Prevent further spread of COVID-19, abuse of drugs and other social- vices.
