The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Oyo State Chapter, has expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for his people-oriented leadership and unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare, particularly with the recent approval of the consolidated salary upgrade for our senior members of the Union, the Heads of Local Government Administration (HLGAs) in the Local Government Service of Oyo State.

NULGE applauds the Governor for his thoughtful intervention in addressing the long-standing issue where HLGAs had not benefited from the reviewed salary structure since January of last year. His assurance that all outstanding arrears would be fully cleared before the end of the month of January demonstrates not only sincerity of purpose but also a deep sense of fairness and responsibility to public servants.

The union also warmly appreciates His Excellency’s directive that all necessary documents for the implementation of the improved salary structure be signed into law before the end of the month, a move that will finally enable Heads of Local Government Administration to enjoy the benefits of the reviewed salary without further delay. This decisive action reinforces Governor Makinde’s reputation as a leader who listens, acts promptly and delivers on his promises.

Furthermore, NULGE commends the Governor for approving the immediate promotion of all state workers due for advancement in 2025, a gesture that has greatly boosted morale across the public service. This landmark decision reflects the Governor’s belief in rewarding diligence, dedication and years of meritorious service.
