The Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, has congratulated the newly appointed Secretary to the Oyo State Government (SSG), Professor Musibau Babatunde.
In a congratulatory message, Bashorun Akinwole described the appointment of Professor Babatunde as well-deserved, noting that it reflects Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to appointing competent and experienced technocrats into key positions.
He recalled that the new SSG is a renowned economist and former lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Ibadan, where he made notable contributions to teaching and research before venturing into public service.
According to him, Professor Babatunde who joined the Oyo State Government in 2019 as Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Economic Affairs and later elevated to the position of Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, where he distinguished himself in budgetary reforms, fiscal discipline, and development planning.
Bashorun Akinwole expressed confidence that Professor Babatunde’s wealth of experience in academics and governance would enhance effective coordination of government activities and contribute to the delivery of dividends of democracy across the state.
He wished the new SSG a successful tenure and prayed for divine wisdom and strength as he takes on the responsibility of serving the people of Oyo State
