The Western Zone of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) has celebrated its end-of-year gathering with reflections on four years of progress, tributes to outgoing executives, and renewed commitments to strengthening the travel and tourism sector.
Speaking at the event, the outgoing Vice President of NANTA Western Zone, Babatunde Adesokan, lauded members for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. In his farewell address titled “Reflecting on Four Years of Progress and Looking Ahead,” Adesokan highlighted the milestones achieved under the outgoing administration, noting that the zone had remained committed to professionalism, collaboration, and industry development.
He emphasized the transformative power of tourism, saying the industry has the capacity to drive economic growth, create jobs, and promote cultural exchange. With the ongoing upgrade of the Ibadan Airport to international standards, he expressed optimism about the region’s expanding opportunities in the travel sector.
Adesokan pledged continued support to the incoming leadership, urging the new executives to sustain the momentum and take the association to greater heights.
In his goodwill message, industry leader Muyiwa Mathew Nkuru praised the outgoing executives for their innovation, openness to collaboration, and strong teamwork.
“Otunba, you have tried. Don’t look back. Continue to work as a team with your executives and the entire NANTA. Whoever is taking over must understand that this is a serious responsibility. The Association must not die in his hands,” he charged.
Also speaking, Mr. Sodehinde of Exotic Brand commended the outgoing administration and urged the incoming executives to “fasten their belts.”
“It is a job only God can reward. There is no material or financial gain, but God will reward your service. The outgoing team has done really well,” he said.
Other personalities present included Alhaji Kolawole Arogundade, Pastor Solomon Olaniyi (Osun State), Yemi Olanbiwoninu, Mr. Adewale Dada, and Engineer Abu Salam, alongside Chairman DS Travels, Daisi Olorun, and Prince Jide Sarayi of Centre Point Travels.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to outstanding members and outgoing executives for their service to the association. Recipients included:

In his remarks, Prince Jide Sarayi stressed the importance of unity within the association, calling for continued cooperation and oneness among members as NANTA enters a new chapter of leadership.
The event ended with renewed optimism for the coming year, as members celebrated achievements and reaffirmed their commitment to excellence in Nigeria’s travel industry.
