The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has reportedly died after collapsing at the Government House in Yenagoa on Thursday afternoon.

Details of the incident remain sketchy, as the cause of his sudden collapse has yet to be confirmed. Sources described the incident as serious, noting that he was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa, for urgent medical attention.

However, efforts to independently verify the development proved difficult, as the Public Relations Officer of FMC, Ben Akpedi, did not respond to calls.

When contacted, the Deputy Governor’s media aide, Doubara Atasi, confirmed the development but declined to provide further details.
