NANTA Hails National Museum of Unity at 50, Commends Heritage Preservation Efforts

The National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) has congratulated the management of the National Museum of Unity, Ibadan, on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee celebration and the commemoration of International Museum Day.

In a statement, the Vice President of NANTA, Western Zone, and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of New Realm Travels & Tours Limited, Prince Olaleye Abiodun Ajibade, described the museum’s 50th anniversary as a significant milestone in the preservation and promotion of Nigeria’s cultural heritage.

Ajibade lauded the institution for its immense contributions to education, tourism development, cultural preservation, and the promotion of national unity over the past five decades.

According to him, museums play a critical role in preserving history, safeguarding cultural identity, and educating future generations about the nation’s rich heritage.

He particularly congratulated the Curator of the National Museum of Unity, Mrs. Otuka Oriyomi P. for her exemplary leadership and commitment to the growth and development of the museum.

The NANTA leader also commended the curator and her management team for sustaining the relevance of the institution and strengthening its position as one of Nigeria’s foremost cultural and tourism destinations.

Ajibade reaffirmed NANTA’s commitment to promoting domestic tourism, cultural exchange, and heritage conservation, stressing that stronger collaboration between tourism stakeholders and cultural institutions is essential for the growth and sustainability of the tourism sector.

He expressed optimism that the National Museum of Unity would continue to inspire future generations through its collections, exhibitions, and educational programmes, while wishing the institution greater success in the years ahead.

The Golden Jubilee celebration drew commendations from stakeholders in the tourism and cultural sectors, who acknowledged the museum’s enduring contributions to preserving Nigeria’s history and cultural legacy.
