Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has forwarded the names of two commissioner-nominees to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The nominees are Dr Lateef Idowu Oyeleke and Barrister Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo.
In a letter dated May 26, 2026, and addressed to the Speaker of the House with reference number SP/S.663/2/VOL. III/436, the governor requested an expeditious and thorough screening process for the nominees.
According to the letter, the nominations were made in compliance with Section 192 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
Makinde stated: “I write to notify the Honourable Speaker and Members of the House of my desire to present the following individuals for screening and confirmation for appointment as Commissioners in our State.”
He expressed optimism that the House would give the nominees the usual prompt consideration during the screening and approval process.
