In a bid to expand the socio-economic value of the community at large, the Ilaji Resort, under the leadership of Engr. Dotun Sanusi has concluded plans to partner the Association of Non indigene Traditional Council in Ibadan and Oyo State(NITCIOUS) on the establishment of a weekend market in Ibadan
This arrangement was concluded during a visit of the Association of Non indigene Traditional Council in Ibadan and Oyo State( NITCIOUS) led by The Eze Ndi Igbo of Ibadan and Oyo State, Dr Alex Chukwudum Anozie in the company of other non-indigene traditional rulers at the Ilaji resorts, Akanran, Oyo State.
In his introduction address, the facilitator, Asiwaju Nurudeen Akinade said the initiative of establishing a weekend market is born out of the purpose of creating unity in diversity amidst the people of Nigeria, which shall include the population of the Nigerian ethnic groups and the Chinese people, as trade shall be exchanged by the two nations. He also identified that it will help boost the economic value of the area.
While speaking on the meaning and purpose of the weekend market, the Chairman Ilaji resorts, Engr. Dotun Sanusi said the market will bring together all the ethnic group in Nigeria, in conjunction with the Chinese people. Hence, people will come together every weekend to bring out everything they produce to represent with our culture, then the Chinese community comes in, while there is exchange in what they produce. He highlighted that market will commence on on Friday and people will leave on Monday.
Speaking on the benefit the market will contribute to the economic of the state, Engr Dotun Sanusi further said that the major thing is to come together, put the people together, sell what we have so that the market is expanded and taken it to a global world, which will also increase the Internally generated revenue of the place.
Responding on the reason for visit and the benefit of the partnership, the Eze Ndi Igbo of Ibadan and Oyo State, Dr Alex Chukwudum Anozie appreciated God for the life of the Engr. Dotun Sanusi, he also extensively spoke of his humility, for deeming it fit to establishing ilaji resort, and also setting up the weekend market initiative to create employment for the diversified community. He therefore promised to relay the message to the people, as they will be happy to receive an offer like this.
The Ilaji resort a multi-billion naira Agribusiness which initially started as a vegetable farm but has since been metamorphosed into a full scale poultry farm. The farms, which sits on about 60 acres of land will seek to host the different members of the country, comprising of different ethnic groups in the coming days to host the weekend trade.
Other royal fathers in company of the visit includes, the Seriki Hausawa of Sasa and Chairman, Council of Arewa Chiefs in Seventeen Southern States, Alhaji Mallam Haruna, His Royal Highness Friday Okoliko (Okoliko II) Onu Igala Ejeh Olabamiro of Ibadan land and Oyo State among others.
