Nigeria’s 23rd Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has assured residents of Esiele community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State that security agencies are intensifying efforts to secure the safe return of the abducted principal and students kidnapped during Friday’s attack by suspected gunmen.
The IGP gave the assurance during an on-the-spot assessment of the affected community, where he appealed for calm and reaffirmed the commitment of security operatives to restoring peace to the area.
According to him, no stone would be left unturned in the ongoing rescue operations, noting that a joint security task force has already launched coordinated operations to track the kidnappers and ensure the victims are safely rescued.
The visit followed Friday morning’s attack on Ahoro-Esinele community, where armed men reportedly dressed in military camouflage stormed the area, shooting sporadically and causing panic among residents.
