A Group, The Coalition of Youth Advocacy For Good Governance has condemned in strong terms the demonstration staged against the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki today at the National Assembly, Abuja.

In a statement made available to newsmen today Tuesday 3rd July, 2018 in Abuja by the President, Alhaji Abdulrasak Jeje, he spoke in strong terms against the show of shame by some paid protesters.

Abdulrasak said, ” We agree that the Senate President has been accused of having a link with robbers, but the gang leader said it in clear terms that Dr. Bukola Saraki never sent them for the robbery”.

He wondered on what basis the hired protesters had demanded for the resignation of the Senate President. Alhaji Jeje said he was reliably informed that each of the hired protesters was mobilized with #2,000 while those that could not get theirs before commencement of the show of shame at the National Assembly are spoiling for a showdown with sponsors of the demonstration.

He further said it was regrettable that youths at the receiving end of bad governance in Nigeria are the ones at the forefront of campaign of calumny targeted at disparaging the Senate President.

The Group also made it known that the National Assembly’s demonstration was a calculated effort to divert national attention from the endless murderous activities of Fulani herdsmen in Plateau, Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa, Zamfara, Bauchi and other affected states.

The Group equally described the demonstration as an attempt to weaken the vibrancy that is associated with the National Assembly. Alhaji Jeje said, ” It is obvious that the Executive is not comfortable with the independence and vibrancy of the National Assembly which cannot be dissociated from Dr. Bukola Saraki. Therefore, all sorts of disingenuous efforts are being made to tarnish the image of Bukola Saraki.”

Alhaji Jeje urged Nigerians not to get deceived by the stage managed diversionary demonstration at the National Assembly. He however encouraged the hapless citizens that are suffering untold economic hardship and those whose family members have fallen victim of gruesome killings by Fulani herdsmen to continually speak against bad governance in the nation.
