The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has warned owners of event centres, hotels and other public facilities in the nation’s capital against allowing their premises to be used by illegal organisations, saying violators risk losing their property titles.

According to the statement, the administration has resolved to closely monitor the use of event centres, hotels and other public buildings across the FCT as part of efforts to strengthen security and support ongoing operations by security agencies.

The administration explained that the measure was aimed at preventing facilities from being used for gatherings capable of disrupting peace and security in the Federal Capital Territory.
The statement urged owners and managers of such facilities to verify the legal status of organisations seeking to rent their premises and ascertain the purpose of any proposed event before granting approval.
The FCTA also drew attention to the current political season, advising event centre and hotel operators to deal only with leaderships of political parties officially recognised by the (INEC) when renting out their facilities for political activities.
