Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari has vowed to lead the All Progressives Congress (APC) to victory in the January 2027 presidential election following his appointment as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
Yari, who represents Zamfara West Senatorial District, made the pledge while accepting his appointment, expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the APC for the confidence reposed in him.
He described the appointment as a responsibility he accepted with “deep gratitude and full seriousness,” assuring the party that he would justify the confidence placed in him.
The former Zamfara State governor said the campaign would go beyond the conventional electoral contest, describing it as a conversation with Nigerians across the country about the future they intend to build together.
He pledged to lead the campaign with discipline, unity and respect, while calling on APC members and supporters across the country to work together towards achieving the party’s objective.
Yari also urged Nigerians to choose progress over division, saying the campaign would seek to earn the people’s confidence through a record of achievements rather than noise.
“By the grace of God, and with the effort of us all, we will deliver victory in January 2027,” Yari declared.
The senator, popularly known as Marafan Sokoto, is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Water Resources and Sanitation.
