As the nation gradually relaxes the lockown on COVID-19, lawmaker representing Ogo Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency at the upper chamber of the National Assembly has urged people not to ignore protocols and preventive measures of the dreaded pandemic
Hon Odebumi an All Progressives Congress APC Chieftain said this in his opening remark at a medical outreach organized for his constituents on friday
The lawmaker emphasized that COVID-19 is real and should not be treated with kids glove ” A lot of people have been killed by this dreaded diseases and there is no medical solution yet and so the only way to prevent the spread is to obey the protocols introduced by World Health Organization such as regular washing of hands with soap and hand sanitizers and maintaining social distance among others
He noted that the past medical outreach which he facilitated and sponsored yielded positive results as many people were able to discover their health status and recieved treatment without any costs.
I deliberately facilitated this as one of the constituency projects because i don’t want to loose anybody to Corona virus or ill health, i cherish my people and i wil continue to do everything to keep them safe and healthy.
Dr Wale Olatunde, a deputy Director at the University College Hospital UCH, Ibadan who led the team, in his brief leture had cautioned against negligence of precautionary measure against corona virus and emphasized that it is real and much more around.
He urged the people to Maintain personal Hyegene ,use of nose masks, and other precautionary measure that can help in preventing the spread of the pandemic.
Representatives of the Muslim community, Christian Association of Nigeria CAN
,Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Student Unions , Market Women, Police Area Commad, Divisional Police Officers, and all other security Agents, Transport Unios, Farmers Associations, Cooperative Societies , Communities and Political leaders, individuals and others too numerous to mention.
Odebunmi and the medical team supervised the distribution, while materials also were distributed to every nook and cranny of the Constituency, directly to people in the market and other household.
