The Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Oyo State, Odoba Abel Oche, has commended the leadership of Ajayi Crowther University, led by its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Abiodun Adebayo, for the significant academic and infrastructural advancements the institution has achieved in recent years.

Oche said this during a courtesy visit he paid the University Vice-Chancellor on Tuesday. He was accompanied on the visit by a number of NYSC officials and three corps members.

Also at the event was ACU Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof Muyiwa Popoola, Bursar, Dr Ayodele Olusanwo, and the University Acting Registrar, Ven Olusegun Ojo.

Oche stated that Ajayi Crowther University has always been good partner of NYSC, making reference to history of the University’s relationship with NYSC and himself.

“When I was at the directorate headquarters in Abuja, I have been visiting the University to sensitise its students.

“I enlisted the University into NYSC programme for the first time in the institution’s history when I was Head of Department at NYSC headquarters in Abuja. Since then, I have established good relationship with the school and I consider it a home,” said the state coordinator.

Speaking on the preparedness of the university’s graduates for the National Youth Service Year, Oche expressed his satisfaction with the conduct and character of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) alumni.

He stated, “The NYSC has never encountered any issues with ACU graduates concerning the authenticity of their academic records or documents. While we occasionally come across candidates from other institutions presenting fake credentials, I’m pleased to affirm that this has never been the case with ACU.”

Commenting on the university’s growth, Oche added, “When I first visited a few years ago, the university was just growing. Today, it has transformed into a mature institution with an impressive Senate building and a serene, conducive learning environment.

“This is truly a centre for moral and academic excellence. The university is producing graduates of sound character, and I am genuinely impressed.”

In response to Oche’s visit and commendation, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebayo, stated, “At Ajayi Crowther University, we ensure that our graduates are equipped with both practical and theoretical knowledge. We encourage them to embrace innovation, launch entrepreneurial ventures, and take on leadership roles. This is why our Department of Entrepreneurship continues to receive commendations from parents and other stakeholders.”

The VC said, “As a faith-based institution committed to producing godly intellectuals, we place strong emphasis on discipline, integrity, and character development in all our students.”
