Afia Group CEO, Adanla, Turbaned as Giwa Adinni by Offa Chief Imam

The Chief Imam of Offa, Fadilatu Sheikh Muyideen Salman has turbaned Engr. Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem MCIArb, MCIOB, МСАВЕ, CEO, Afia Group and the Mogaji of Adanla family of Ibadan, as the Giwa Adinni of Offa Land.

 

Adanla, as the renowned estate developer is popularly called, is a holder of multiple Islamic titles, including the Turaki Adinni of Oyo State, Wakil Faido Tijaniya of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states, and now Giwa Adinni of Offa Land.

He was turbaned on Saturday during the grand finale of Sheikh Salman’s annual Mawlid Nabiyy celebration, held at the Islamic scholar’s Arabic School in Offa, Kwara State.

The turbaning ceremony underscores Adanla’s long-standing contributions, not only to the development of the Islamic community but also as a solution provider in the real estate sector, an employer, and a philanthropist.

At the iconic event to honor Adanla were top Islamic clerics, royal fathers, family and friends, including the newly crowned Olubadan of Ibadanland, HIM Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, who sent in a representative with his staff of office; Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi; two respected monarchs from Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, HRM Oba Dr. David Oladele Oyerinola Adedunmoye, Elerin of Adanla-Irese and HRM Oba Ismail Olayiwola Kosolu Tunde Dawodu, Okokanle of Okanle; the Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Olabisi; the representative of Sheikh Abdul-Ganiyy Agbotomokekere, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, and another popular Islamic scholar, Sheikh Lanase.

Other top dignitaries who also witnessed the event are; Dr. Tahilat Ayilara, Chief Imam of Ogbomoso land; Governor Seyi Makinde’s aid and a close brother of Adanla, Otunba Seye Famojuro; Alhaji Salau Majeed Olalekan; Chief Ismaila Balogun Adanla; Baale Abdulahi Adanla; Baale Tirimisiyu Oseni Adanla of Ido Local Government; Hon. Akeem Olatunji, the Chairman of Oluyole Local Government; Alhaji Odunola Kazeem; the Tijaniya community from Ibadan, among others.

The impressive guest list also included Oba Adekunle Nataniel, the Iba Iyaoje, Surulere Local Government in Oyo State; Alhaja Laide Karim who represented Chief Kola Karim, a business mogul and the Agba Oye of Ibadanland, as well as the league of Imams and Alfas from Ibadan led by Imam Erro.

After he was turbaned and presented the certificate as the Giwa Adinni of Offa Land, Adanla, alongside his two beautiful Oloris, Alhaja Balkiz Karheem and Alhaja Mahmudat Karheem, hosted their guests into an exclusive reception at a private venue in Offa before the party train took off back to Ibadan.

The vibrant and colorful reception was organized in honor of the newly turbaned Giwa Adinni of Offa land by Prince Abdulganiy Olukitibi Oyawoye, the Aare Olori-Omo’ba of Offa land and son of the late Professor Jamiu Mosobalaje Oyawoye, a renowned Nigerian Geologist and community leader, at his Ile Aremo Akoko palatial home in Offa.

Present at the reception were top Islamic clerics, including the chief chairman of Ratibi Imams in Offa, Khalifa Sheikh Sufian Akewusola (Alefa Popo); Waziri Olose; Khalifa Sheikh Aiyegbami; Dr. Ahmad Agbaje; and Prof. Abdulwaheed Adebisi.

Other notable attendees included Alhaji Kola Olagunju, Balogun Imale Offa; Alhaji Prince Kosamotu Oyawoye; Alhaji Razak Oyewo; Prince Layi Adegboye; Alhaji Kehinde Adegboye; Prince Oyekunle Adegboye; Alhaji Ayanlere; and the Offamesi Associates of Late Aremo Oyawoye.

Both the main event and the reception were a testament to Adanla’s refined taste and appreciation for quality.
