Forme chairman of Oriire local Government Hon. Ezekiel Oyedepo has expressed appreciation to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, following his appointment as a member of the Oyo State Advisory Council.
Makinde approved the appointment of Oyedepo, alongside Engr. Abu Salami and Hon. Lydia Bankole, as members of the Advisory Council, which is chaired by Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, SAN. The appointments took effect on September 18, 2026.
Speaking after the appointment, Oyedepo thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with other members of the council in contributing to the administration’s objectives.
He also pledged his support for what he described as Makinde’s political aspirations beyond his tenure as governor, including the governor’s reported ambition to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Oyedepo further pledged to mobilise support for Hon. Bimbo Adekanbi and Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship and deputy governorship candidates respectively, ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
Adekanbi and Open Salawu have been identified as the APM ticket for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State by reports on the party’s preparations.
Oyedepo said his support would extend to working with other members and supporters to mobilise grassroots backing for the candidates.
The newly appointed Advisory Council member also pledged to discharge his responsibilities in his new position with commitment, while expressing appreciation for the opportunity to serve the state.
His appointment is part of a wider reshuffle announced by the Oyo State Government, which also included appointments to the Hospitals Management Board, Project Performance Monitoring Agency and other government positions.
