A former Vice Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Pastor Femi Adebisi JP, has formally endorsed Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige for the Ibadan South East/Ibadan North East Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general election.
In an open letter dated February 25, 2026, Adebisi described Ige as the “most capable and credible” aspirant to represent the constituency at the House of Representatives, citing his track record in public service and leadership.
Adebisi, who served in the Interim Management Committee between 2003 and 2004 and later as Vice Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government from 2004 to 2007, said he worked closely with Ige during his tenure as Chairman of Ibadan East Local Government, describing his administration as transformative and people-oriented.
According to him, Ige demonstrated “sagacity, steadfastness and uncommon dedication to grassroots development,” adding that his tenure prioritised infrastructural development and the welfare of residents.
The former council boss also highlighted Ige’s political journey, including his time as a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan South East Constituency II, his role as Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Culture, and his current position as Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Pension Board.
Adebisi said these roles reflect “a career marked by excellence, humility and probity,” noting that Ige has maintained an unblemished record in public office.
“As the 2027 general election approaches, our constituency deserves a representative with vision, integrity and courage. Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige embodies these qualities and has the experience required to advance the interests of Ibadan South East and Ibadan North East at the national level,” he stated.
He called on political leaders and stakeholders in the constituency to rally behind Ige, pledging to mobilise support and lead campaign efforts should the aspirant formally declare his intention to contest.
Adebisi urged Ige to heed what he described as a “clarion call to higher service,” assuring him of widespread backing from supporters who believe in his leadership capacity.
The endorsement adds to growing political activities within Ibadan ahead of the 2027 polls, as aspirants begin consultations and grassroots engagements across constituencies.
