President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, have congratulated prominent businessman and philanthropist, Chief Dotun Sanusi, on his 58th birthday, commending his contributions to business development, philanthropy, youth empowerment and the growth of Ibadanland.
In separate birthday messages, the two leaders praised Sanusi, Chairman of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, for his commitment to humanity, investment in education and sports, and support for community development.
President Tinubu, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on October 17, 2026, described Sanusi as a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who had been mobilising party members ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The President noted that the Ibadan-born businessman had built a successful career in the oil industry, working with multinational companies, including Halliburton, Saipem, Hanover and Beckfield, before establishing TNL Drilling Services.
Tinubu also commended Sanusi’s investment in hospitality and sports through Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, as well as his contributions to youth development through ICAST School and Ilaji Soccer Academy.
According to the President, the initiatives provide opportunities for young people to access quality education and develop their football talents for potential recruitment by clubs in Spain and Malta.
He described Sanusi as an exemplary son of Ibadan and Oyo State whose humility, generosity and commitment to humanity had earned him admiration.
Tinubu also expressed appreciation for Sanusi’s contributions to the APC and his personal support, praying for his continued good health, greater accomplishments and many more years of service to humanity.
Similarly, the Olubadan, Oba Ladoja, described the celebrant as a successful businessman who combines a deep love for humanity with humility.
The monarch commended Sanusi for transforming Ilaji and its surrounding community in Akanran, Ibadan, through investments that have created economic opportunities, promoted tourism and contributed to local livelihoods.
He also highlighted the contributions of ICAST School in Elebu, Ibadan, to youth education, describing the institution as evidence of Sanusi’s commitment to investing in Nigeria’s future.
According to the Olubadan, Sanusi has continued to invest in Ibadanland while pursuing business interests at home and abroad, contributing to the peace and progress of the ancient city.
Oba Ladoja further disclosed that Sanusi’s inclusion in the Olubadan Economic and Investment Committee was part of efforts to engage prominent entrepreneurs on strategies to revive businesses that had closed down in Ibadan.
He said the businessman’s achievements and philanthropic activities reflected qualities worthy of emulation.
The Olubadan congratulated Sanusi, who holds the titles of Gbonka Olubadan and Okanlomo Oodua, and prayed for God’s blessings, good health and many more years of life.
The congratulatory messages underscore the growing recognition of Sanusi’s contributions to enterprise development, community investment and youth empowerment in Ibadan and Oyo State.
