The Oyo State Government has commenced a reverification exercise for property owners affected by the first phase of the Senator Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road in Ibadan who are yet to receive compensation.
The development was disclosed in a statement signed by the Special Assistant (Print Media) to the state government, Moses Alao, on Monday.
Chairman of the Monitoring Committee for the payment of compensation, CP Sunday Odukoya (rtd), said the exercise is aimed at capturing over 900 property owners who were omitted during the initial compensation process.
He recalled that the state government had, on April 22, 2026, approved N5.8 billion as compensation for another batch of affected property owners, in addition to earlier payments made to hundreds of beneficiaries impacted by the arterial road project.
Odukoya explained that beginning from Monday, April 27, 2026, affected individuals in the first phase of the 110-kilometre circular road project who were not captured previously are required to visit the Ministry of Lands or the Office of the Executive Assistant on Security to the Governor—who also serves as chairman of the verification committee—to check for their names.
He outlined the required documents for the exercise to include: a Local Government identification letter or residence permit for non-indigenes; survey plan of the property or farmland; building or farmland drawings; photographs of the property; land purchase agreement; and a sworn affidavit from a court or the Ministry of Justice.
Other documents include a Letter of Power of Attorney from the Ministry of Justice (for proxy claims); five recent passport photographs of the claimant; National Identification Number (NIN); five passport photographs of the guarantor or surety; valid means of identification of the guarantor (including NIN); and the claimant’s bank details, including account name, bank, account number, and phone number.
The committee chairman also urged claimants to come with any additional documents that may be required by the monitoring team, as well as a letter of recommendation from the landlord association in the affected area.
