The People’s Democratic party PDP Candidate in Oyo North Senatorial District, Hon Akinwale Solomon Akinwole has promised to complement the efforts of Oyo state Governor Engineer Oluseyi Makinde to improve the standard of living of residents of his constituents if elected.
Wolekanle is seeking to take over the Senate seat from Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress APC who is seeking a third term in office.
The PDP chieftain while speaking at the inauguration of 250 volunteers in Ogbomoso said he would move motions and bills that will have direct impacts on the constituency and the state at large.
Members of the volunteers include civil servants, professionals, artisans, students, farmers, and traders, and their role is to sensitize people and canvass for a vote for PDP
He said :
“Just like Governor Seyi Makinde is positively transforming Oyo state, I will make Oyo North a place of pride by complementing his efforts on infrastructure, education, health, and provision of basic amenities that will improve the welfare of the people as well as empowerment”
He maintained that ‘apart from complementing the efforts of the governor on sustainable development I will also collaborate with indigenous stakeholders and established government agencies in developing our communities
” Our people deserve better and one of the ways to make meaningful impacts and engender a better society is through quality representation at the legislative chamber and harmonious working relationship with the state government, having PDP lawmakers at the Federal and PDP government at the state will enhance rapid advancements ”
“The focus is mainly on sustainable advancements so my kind of wealth and job creation program will not just be a one-off or distribution of items but a proper training on the area of choices with the allocation of materials and financial support that will enhance the self-sufficiency of the beneficiaries”
While urging Nigerians to resist vote buying and violence during the election, Wolekanle said ” They have been going around with cash and material things just to lure you to vote for the extension of hardship and insecurity in the country please collect their money and don’t vote for them because a vote for any party other than PDP is a vote for continuous fuel and cash crisis as well as insecurity.
“Apart from canvassing for votes please be vigilant and don’t let anybody intimidate you, you have the right to talk to people and please don’t violate electoral laws” He concluded.
