The recent waves of insecurity in IMO state did not come without its cost both in human and materials. Several law enforcement agents lost their lives while many public properties were also affected.

As the government is trying to rebuild the public infrastructure affected by the crisis, it is also lending a helping hands to the dependants of the Law enforcement officers who lost their lives.

The benevolent governor of Imo state, His Excellency Hope Uzodinma has given families of 21 deceased Police officers N5m cheque each.

The Governor said that the token was in compensation for the selfless services rendered by the fallen heroes.

Governor Uzodinma who spoke recently in the audience of the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba during the latter’s one-day working visit, said the state government feels the pains of the immediate families of the deceased, assuring that they will not be left to suffer.

This decision by the governor has been hailed in many quarters in the state as many describe the governor’s action as kindness from the authority.

Before this time, many falling law enforcement agents only got promises and after the media jamboree they never see any money but the story of dependants of Anayo, Solomon Onyeneke, Anyanwu Augustine, Ali Akpo, Daniel Ise, Kelechi Samuel, Elijah Haruna, Yusuf Daniel, Emmanuel Akim ,Abia Tony and other falling officers were different. They got the money instantly devoid of any government bureaucracy.

While the money can not bring back the dead but their families will be grateful that at least part of the vacuum is filled by the governor who has a milk of Kindness.
