The United State Mission in Nigeria has mourned the passage of Professor Lai Oso
Oso a media scholar and lecturer at Lagos stage University died in auto crash on Saturday evening.
The United State mission in a post on their social media handle wrote ” We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Professor Lai Oso, one of Nigeria’s most respected journalism teachers”
” Over the past years, Professor Oso partnered with the U.S. Consulate on a variety of initiatives that built the capacity of journalists and encouraged the local media to promote democracy, good governance, transparency, and accountability.
“His wealth of experience was readily available to all who knew him. We will always remember with appreciation his dedication to his craft and advocacy for promoting journalism ethics.
“We extend our deepest condolences to his family and colleagues during this difficult time
