Unilorin Teaching Hospital Suspends Staff For Releasing Suspected COVID-19 patient’s Corpse

Prof Alakija Kazeem Salami as a Senior Consultant in the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, UITH has been suspended.

He was suspended by the Management over unethical conduct in the admission, management and eventual release of the corpse of a suspected Covid -19 patient who died in the hospital on the 3rd of April, 2020

In a statement by DAVID S ODAIBO Director of Administration who signed for Chief Medical Director, the suspension takes immediate effect

The development followed Governor’s address where he expresses disappointment at the breach of trust that played out in the UITH case
