As Nigeria marks the second anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, Oyo State gubernatorial hopeful and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Gbenga Adegbola, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the President, lauding his impactful leadership and unwavering commitment to national development.
In a statement on Wednesday, Dr. Adegbola commended President Tinubu for steering Africa’s largest economy through challenging times with vision, tenacity, and a deep sense of responsibility since assuming office on May 29, 2023.
“Mr. President has demonstrated exceptional perseverance and resilience, even in the most difficult situations, to reposition Nigeria on the path of progress,” he stated. “Despite the daunting economic challenges, his dedication to transforming the nation and improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians is evident to even the harshest critics.”
Highlighting some of the administration’s key achievements, Dr. Adegbola pointed to notable strides in infrastructure, education, housing, and security, which he said are reshaping the national landscape in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He noted the administration’s impressive performance in the power sector, with electricity generation surpassing 6,000 megawatts, and a significant boost in crude oil output from 600,000 barrels per day to 1.8 million barrels per day.
“The economic indicators reflect a steady trajectory of growth,” Adegbola emphasized. “President Tinubu’s government has cleared $5 billion in outstanding foreign obligations, while revenue generation has exceeded ₦9.1 trillion. Additionally, Nigeria recorded a trade surplus increase of 209.6%, amounting to ₦17.86 trillion in 2024 alone.”
He further praised the Federal Government’s adoption of a unified foreign exchange system, increased allocations to states, and social intervention programs such as the ₦45 billion disbursed in student loans across tertiary institutions.
Dr. Adegbola also spotlighted ongoing reforms in the solid minerals sector, projected to yield up to $700 billion in long-term revenue, as well as transformative policies in agriculture and education.
“These accomplishments are not just milestones; they are testaments to a leader determined to fulfill his promises,” he said. “President Tinubu’s bold reforms and visionary policies are changing the narratives, and indeed, one good term deserves another.”
